About the Author/Company

This battery driven, solar and wind turbine charged company, Cruising Companion Publications, is the brainchild of Captain Marti Brown; a female solo sailor that has been cruising the Florida Coast and the Bahamas since 1990. She is a HAM radio operator, a reporting station for the Hurricane Watch Net, an active member of the Waterway Radio and Cruising Club, the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Marti has a Masters in Nursing and was trained as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, she has been a licensed 100 ton Master USCG Captain for 15 years, and she currently resides in Marathon, in the Florida Keys.
